Shannon, Sounds like things got off to a great start. I love Google Docs, and have found it to be an incredible tool in the classroom. I think it was a wise decision to go with Docs instead of Notebook. I hope you continue to tap into this incredible resource. Great start!
Hi Shannon, It sounds like your students were inspired by this project. I was very impressed that you included student input into the project by having them brainstorm how they/you (i.e. learning community) can use Google Docs. I think it was a good call to just stick with Google Docs rather than Notebook for note taking. The technology should be a tool, the easier the better, so they are focusing on the learning and content rather than troubleshooting and getting frustrated with the technology. Nice work. Kathy
I like that you went w/ Google Docs instead of Notebook. I tried using Notebook for a class I took in January, and I found it much harder to deal with. Google Docs is more user friendly.
You made a solid choice in switching to Google Docs. I've had experience with Notebook and found it much less user-friendly. I'm impressed that you were willing to change your plans midstream and try something that might be better for the kids. Nice podcast, too!
I can relate to your frustration about not having all of the student usernames. I teach an online class and had the same issues all year long. I think you did a great job of demonstrating to the kids.
