I can use the image below in my World History class. I will use it to visually show my students how Japanese imperialism was planned. Students have just learned about European imperialism and it will be good for them to learn about imperialism in the east as well. Students will be able to understand how Nationalism can lead to imperialism all over the world.

Interesting way the map portrays the world! In the US, we see the map from our perspective. Japan highlights their perspective. The size ratios of the countries are also so different with Japan being so large in comparison to other countries.
ReplyDeleteMy son was given some old maps that showed the map from the perspective of the country viewing the world. An example would be viewing the US from Canada with the focal point coming from the North and looking down on the US.
